Ingredients

For the Fluffiest Omelette
  • 3 large eggs Fresh eggs will give you the best flavor.
  • 1 tbsp milk or cream This adds richness and helps create that fluffy texture.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Essential for seasoning; don’t skip this step!
  • 1 tbsp butter For that lovely, golden, and slightly crispy edge.
  • optional Fresh herbs Chives or parsley add a fresh touch.
  • optional Grated cheese Because who can resist cheese?
  • optional Fillings of your choice Diced vegetables, ham, or mushrooms work great!

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Non-Stick Skillet
  • Spatula

Method

  1. Step 1: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk or cream, salt, and pepper until well combined and slightly frothy. I like to whisk vigorously to incorporate air, which helps with fluffiness!
  2. Step 2: Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add the butter, allowing it to melt and coat the pan evenly.
  3. Step 3: Pour the egg mixture into the skillet, tilting the pan gently to spread it out evenly.
  4. Step 4: Let the eggs cook undisturbed for about 1-2 minutes until the edges start to set. Patience is key here!
  5. Step 5: Using a spatula, gently lift the edges of the omelette and tilt the pan to let any uncooked eggs flow to the edges.
  6. Step 6: If you want to add fresh herbs, cheese, or any other fillings, sprinkle them on one half of the omelette now.
  7. Step 7: Once the eggs are mostly set but still slightly runny on top, carefully fold the omelette in half over the fillings.
  8. Step 8: Cook for an additional minute, then slide the omelette onto a plate and serve immediately. Enjoy your delicious creation!

Notes

If you happen to have leftovers (which is rare!), you can store your omelette in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat it gently in the microwave or in a skillet over low heat. Just remember, the texture might change a bit after reheating!
