Ingredients

For the Mille-Feuille
  • 500 g puff pastry
  • 250 ml heavy cream
  • 100 g powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 200 g fresh strawberries sliced
  • 50 g dark chocolate for garnish

Equipment

  • Baking tray
  • Parchment Paper
  • Rolling Pin
  • Sharp knife or pastry cutter
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Electric mixer or whisk
  • Fork
  • Heatproof bowl
  • Spatula

Method

  1. Step 1: Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Step 2: Roll out the puff pastry to a thickness of 3mm. Cut into rectangles measuring 10cm by 5cm.
  3. Step 3: Place the rectangles on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Prick them with a fork to prevent puffing.
  4. Step 4: Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Remove and let cool.
  5. Step 5: In a bowl, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  6. Step 6: Once the puff pastry is cool, assemble the mille-feuille by layering the pastry, whipped cream, and sliced strawberries. Start with a layer of pastry, followed by whipped cream, then strawberries, and repeat for three layers.
  7. Step 7: Finish with a layer of puff pastry on top.
  8. Step 8: Melt the dark chocolate and drizzle it over the top layer for garnish.
  9. Step 9: Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving. Enjoy.
