  • 8 oz pasta e.g., penne or fusilli
  • 2 cups vegetable or chicken broth adds a rich flavor base
  • 1 cup milk for creaminess
  • 1 tbsp olive oil a touch of healthy fat
  • 1 tsp garlic powder for aromatic kick
  • 1 tsp onion powder adds depth
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning a blend of herbs
  • to taste salt for balancing flavors
  • to taste pepper for balancing flavors
  • 1 cup shredded cheese e.g., cheddar or mozzarella
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Equipment

  • Large Skillet

Method

  1. Step 1: In a large skillet or pan, combine the pasta, broth, milk, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  2. Step 2: Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally.
  3. Step 3: Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and cover the pan. Simmer for 10-12 minutes, or until the pasta is cooked and has absorbed most of the liquid.
  4. Step 4: Remove the pan from heat and stir in the shredded cheese until it melts and becomes creamy.
  5. Step 5: Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired, and serve warm.

Notes

Let the pasta cool completely before transferring it to an airtight container. It will last in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat on the stove with a splash of milk to bring back the creaminess.
